St. Benedict Center
Schuyler, NE
In the late 1970s the firm of Astle/Ericson & Associates designed the award-winning Benedictine Monastery in Schuyler,
Nebraska. Later, in 1994 the Benedictine Order commissioned Astle/Ericson with the design of a conference/retreat center adjacent to the original monastery. Dan Reinhardt served as an integral part of the team. The facility features a large concourse, full dining room and kitchen facilities, a secluded library and meditation area, forty guest rooms, a large Chapel, and smaller Adoration Chapel. The project also includes a man-made lake that serves as the reservoir for fire protection water.
Reinhardt & Associates provided services for a 10,200 square foot addition. The new work includes additional guest rooms, offices, and an enlarged gift shop area. The addition was completed in January 2006.
